KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.59 g, 11 h), Byzantion, circa 245-220. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; behind, transverse spear; in field to outer and inner left, monogram. HGC 3.2, 1376-7. Marinescu Group III, -. Müller -. Naumann E-Auction 43 (2016), 187 (same dies). Fresh and attractive. Thin die break on the obverse and with light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
